::Un pod extraordinar de frumos. O minune a arhitecturii! Inca ma minunez cum au putut sa construiasca asa ceva in Dunare. E foarte lung! Nu vreau sa ma laud, dar probabil sunt singurul om in mult timo care l-a trecut pe jos si incolo si incoace. Prima oara n-a vrut sa ma lase pe jos, ca zicea ca doar daca sunt intr-un vehicul, dar apoi m-au lasat, ca au zis ca sunt mai subtirel. Sa treci pe jos e foarte stramt. Intr-un loc trebuie sa treci de-a latul, ca n-ai loc. De asemenea, trebuie sa te astepti sa te umpli de panza de paianjen. In rest, niste privelisti extraordinare! Nu le vezi asa bine din masina...

::Connection bridge for Roumania and Bulgary countries over the Danube river. Easy access from the one country to the other. Borders exist in both sides of the bridge. The closest cities for an overnight stay are the Giurgiu (Roumania) and Rousse (Bulgary).

::The bridge was built between 1952 and 1954 as part of a larger scale military project to span a fast railroad corridor for the Soviet army down to the Turkish border. Stalin's death prevents the success of the operation and the bridge remains the only fully functionning part of the project. Back then the plan was to also dig a tunnel under the East Balkan and they almost succeeded. Today if you're feeling adventurous and you're well prepared you can find the North entrance and some 2 kilometers of an unfinished tunnel deep in the woods south-west of Varna. Anyways, currently the bridge is used for civil purposes only. It has a middle section that can be lifted to let larger ships pass through. My first impression – it was smaller than I imagined it, in poor condition and the roads on both sides are far from what a border between two European countries should look like.

::I crossed the bridge on foot, it was hassle free, but because of the ever lasting renovations it was bit tricky sometimes. However it was a good experience with nice views.
