  Yesterday on 16. March I went to Banca Transilvania to exchange money from Euro to Lei. First I talked to a man at a counter who was friendly and was referring me to a lady behind a glass that is responsible for the exchange. The exchange rate was 4,71 at this day and I wanted to get 220 Euro. First the lady calculated something and then said that I have to give her 1050 Lei. I knew that it was only 1036 Lei, but I thought I was probably getting something back. Then she calculated again something for a few minutes and afterwards told me to give her 13,80 Lei more. Because I was confused I gave it to her. She was doing something on the computer again for some minutes and gave me 3,30 Lei back for some reason. I took them but got a weird feeling at this point. Usually this should be a very clear and fast procedure and I already spent a lot of time there. I still thought the lady would clear the mistake. But afterwards she wanted to give me the 220 Euro I asked for. I told her friendly that I gave her too much money and that there was a mistake in the exchange. I recalculated with my phone and wrote down on a piece of paper the exact amount I gave her, which was altogether 1060,5 Lei instead of the correct 1036,2 Lei. That are 24,3 Lei too much, so 5,15 Euro. I explained this to the lady and told her that I still get back 5 Euro. She told me she understands, but they do not have 5 Euro bills. She underlined this statement by showing me a few bills. I said already annoyed that I do not care, I wanted to get back the amount that I gave too much in Lei. The Lady answered very rude that my calculation is wrong, that she used the correct exchanging rate and that my romanian is very bad (I am a foreign student still learning romanian). She furthermore told me to leave the bank and gave me back the 1050 Lei I gave her in the very beginning. I asked her about the other money I additionally gave her afterwards and she answered that I did not give her anything else. This means she kept 10,5 Lei from me and denied that I had given it to her. She very rude told me again to leave the bank, which I did. Either the lady was unable to calculate an extremely simple calculation or (which I suppose is the case) she tried to deceive me. It is not only about the 10,5 Lei that she kept from me, but most important about the very annoying, time consuming and rude way I was treated.

  It's ok, but the staff is sometimes moody and hard to work with
