::In the previous decades, Atelier 35 has been "the" place for edgy contemporary Romanian art, a place where many postmodern artists exhibited. Now it is home to ODD, an organization with a scope that includes both Romanians and artists from abroad. There are exhibitions (usually focused on installations and performances) and workshops on critical theory matters and such. (Don't forget to look for the backdoor shelf of art books!) If you are rather interested in painters, you should probably focus instead on galleries like Aiurart, Anca Poterasu, H'art, Laborna, Mobius, maybe Galateca or Galeria Posibila and, once it will open in the following years, MARe (the so-called Recent Art Museum). If you are inclined towards this theoretical-leaning end of contemporary art, also look for tranzit.ro, Make a Point, Modulab (who are actually focused on robotics and that kind of edgy tech stuff), Nicodim Gallery, Eastwards Prospectus and such. Regardless, the MNAR, the MNAC and the PostModernism Museum in Voluntari (a km away from Pipera metro station) all should be on your list. (Disclaimer :) Yes, I do know personally or have collaborated with some of the people who run these galleries - sorry if I missed some important spaces -)
